Teacher Beat a Pupil...


When Pieter Harvey was trying to restore discipline in his class he lost control. Students claim that he beat a boy with a dumbbell. This caused heavy damage on the head of the boy. In December 2008 mister Harvey was sent home after he said that he could harm somebody. In April 2009 he returned to his post as a teacher. Students in his class said that moments before the attack they were afraid of mister Harvey because he kicked a girl with behavioural difficulties. Right after that the schoolboy victim started to annoy Pieter Harvey by waving a wooden ruler and a metal burner. This was too much for Pieter and he lost control. The trial still continues...

Physical abuse is never the answer. I know it will be difficult when you are annoyed and bullied by your pupils, but to beat up someone is not a solution. I think it is a lack of safety that mister Harvey returned to school after his mental breakdown in December 2008. There are always teachers who have difficulties with gaining discipline in their classes. I think that teachers with these problems should not teach students! They should first try their utmost to gain that discipline, maybe follow a course on that. If this still does not improve the control over the class, the teacher in question should consider to stop teaching. I think that every teacher with these difficulties could lose control and maybe even beat up a pupil like Pieter Harvey. They are bombs, ready to explode...
